The new Mercedes-Benz Citaro received the Grand Award for regular-service buses at Busworld in Kortrijk, Belgium. After a week of testing, the expert jury of the European Coach & Bus Week acknowledged the good design, the interior with new driver cockpit and above all the new safety features. "The new Mercedes-Benz Citaro is the first regular-service bus that can be supplied with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP®).
We are happy that our team has once again been able to play a pioneering role in the field of public transport safety," said Angela Titzrath-Grimm, Head of Marketing, Sales and Aftersales at Daimler Buses.
The new Citaro was first presented to the public mid-2011, and will gradually replace the most successful urban bus in the world. The first of the new Citaro vehicles are currently on their way to customers.
