The Sprinter City series is a true specialist for local scheduled bus services. The compact Sprinter City 35 (length 6.9 m; accommodates up to 22 passengers) is based on a modified panel van. The second model, the larger Sprinter City 65 (length 7.7 m; up to 30 passengers), is immediately recognisable by its independent structural design, including a bus support frame and panoramic windows. Equipped with a front double-wing outward-swinging door with a clear width of 1250 mm, both models are ideal for city traffic. The flat entrance area leads to a spacious low-floor area between the axles, covering an area of approx. 3.2 square metres in the City 35, and 3.6 square metres in the City 65. There's plenty of room here for standing passengers, as well as enough space for wheelchairs or pushchairs. A fold-out ramp ensures comfortable boarding and exiting for passengers with restricted mobility or parents with pushchairs.
The Sprinter City is equipped with light, anatomically designed "City-Star Eco" plastic bucket seats with cushioned seats and backrests. The Sprinter City 65 is also fitted as standard with an additional single-wing outward-swinging door behind the rear axle.
The Sprinter City is an impressive proposition, featuring an extensive range of attractive and functional equipment. The series makes use of the colour concept, floor and sidewall panelling, seats and modular ceiling of its larger cousin, the Mercedes-Benz Citaro. The same applies to climate comfort. The equipment range includes high-performance convector heaters with axial fans, and driver/co-driver air conditioning with fresh-air and air-recirculation functions.
