The Travego "Safety Edition" is now making driving safer than ever before. The Mercedes-Benz flagship bus was voted "Coach of the Year 2010" by an international panel at Busworld in Kortrijk, Belgium. Soon afterwards, Mercedes-Benz released a special edition model equipped with all current safety systems, including the Electronic Stability Programme (ESP®), the continuous braking limiter (DBL), the electronic braking system (EBS), the ABS anti-lock braking system, acceleration skid control (ASR), Brake Assist (BA), Lane Assistant (SPA), proximity control (ART), a rear-view camera, Active Brake Assist (ABA), a front collision guard (FCG), a rain/light sensor, Lictronic low-beam headlamps, fire alarm systems for the engine compartment and boot, and a toilet smoke alarm. Also on board is the eight-speed Mercedes PowerShift automated manual transmission with hydrodynamic retarder, which was developed for use in a bus for the first time. This transmission enhances both safety and driving comfort, as well as reducing fuel consumption.
Customers benefit from the Travego Safety Edition in several ways. The comprehensive range of safety features makes for safer driving. At the same time, the Safety Edition is available at an attractive price. What is more, a number of insurance companies grant discounts on premiums to bus operators that use this model. The OMNIplus First Class "Gold" package can also be included in the purchase price. This package provides customers with cost-calculation security. In addition to the extensive safety and driver assistance package, the Safety Edition is unmistakable thanks to its exclusive interior and the "Travego Safety Edition" logotype on the outside. The model is available in all lengths and classifications.
