Camper van chassis with standard frame

Because a house is only ever as good as its foundations, we paid particular attention to giving the Sprinter camper van chassis extremely solid underpinnings. The robust, torsionally stiff frame made out of twin hat sections ensures outstanding stability and a long service life.

Plus the high payload of the 4.6-tonne and 5-tonne variants mean that even heavier camper van bodies can be fitted.

Body variants

The chassis with normal frame is available in three versions – with 3.5 t perm. GVW in all three wheelbases and with 4.6 t and 5.0 t perm. GVW with wheelbases of 3665 and 4325 mm:

  • Chassis with cab
  • Chassis-cowl with doors for alcove bodies or partially integrated body (without roof and rear panel)
  • Cab base as basis for integrated attachments

Chassis, steering, suspension

Comfort requirements on the one hand and the special bodies of camper vans on the other need special chassis harmonisation. The Sprinter camper van chassis with standard frame offers an outstanding package comprising:

  • Independent wheel suspension at the front
  • four application-oriented chassis variants
  • Rear-wheel drive for balanced handling characteristics
  • comfort-oriented rear axle suspension
  • Power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering
  • small turning circle
