Ride comfort you can feel

With the A-Class you can enjoy the best ride comfort at all times, because it adapts to virtually every kind of road condition. The spring /damper system in conjunction with the electromechanically-controlled speed-sensitive steering sees to it. When driving a straight course, for example, the suspension is adjusted to a firmer setting, while in curves and when driving on a rougher road surface it is more elastic.

Speed-sensitive power steering with STEER CONTROL assistance system

The electromechanical speed-sensitive steering system is dependent on the torque on the torsion bar. Compared with conventional hydraulic steering systems, this ensures improved steering alignment and a more direct feedback to the driver.

  • Safe intervention: The STEER CONTROL assistance system can boost safety by providing corrective intervention in the event of oversteering and braking manoeuvres on different road surfaces.
  • More comfort while driving: improved feedback to the driver, automatic correction in the event of oversteering the vehicle and when braking.
  • Optional sports suspension: As part of the Sports Package, the vehicle is lowered by 10 mm and the tighter suspension/damping settings deliver a more dynamic performance.
