The spacious, exclusively appointed interior with seating for up to seven people is also highly versatile. Behind the second row of seats, there is a generously sized luggage compartment with a maximum capacity of 1240 litres and a length of 1309 mm. Folding down the second row of seats (with its 1/3:2/3 split) completely, produces a cavernous load space with a length of 2128 mm and a maximum capacity of 2200 litres (2300 litres if the optional third seat row is not fitted).

The load compartment features eight lashing eyelets and two securing hooks for lashing down bulky loads.

A stowage compartment in load compartment floor and a safety net as luggage compartment partition behind the first or the second row of seats are standard equipment, as is the load compartment cover.

The automatic EASY-PACK tailgate is offered as optional equipment (standard equipment for the GL 500). It operates electrohydraulically and can be opened with the button on the inside of the tailgate or using the ignition key. It can be stopped at any position, for instance, to prevent contact with low garage ceilings. If an object causes an obstruction when the tailgate is closing, the process is automatically halted.

With the EASY-PACK load-securing kit (option), all your bags and other items can be firmly lashed down for safe transportation, even when driving through off-road terrain.
