The innovative ECO Gear 360 6-speed manual transmission system is the ideal complement to the Sprinter 4-cylinder diesel engines. Thanks to its increased gear ratio spread, broader overall gear ratio and reduction of the engine speed, in conjunction with the standard-fit BlueEFFICIENCY package it reduces the combined consumption appreciably compared with the earlier Euro 4 CDI diesel engines – by up to 2.6 l/100 km for the 4-cylinder engine with Euro 5 type approval

The NAG W5A 380 automatic transmission system impresses with its outstandingly smooth gear-changing. This transmission system is fitted as standard in vehicles with 6-cylinder petrol engines and is also optionally available for those with 4-cylinder petrol engines.

The new, consumption-optimised 7G-TRONIC [1] 7-speed automatic transmission is available as an option for vehicles powered by CDI engines featuring the BlueEFFICIENCY package.

A clear advantage: natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas drive systems

Alternatively, the Sprinter is available with natural gas NGT and liquefied petroleum gas LGT drive systems [1] [2]. These are BlueEFFICIENCY technologies with significantly reduced pollutant emissions.
