             AMG 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine (SL 43) The world's most powerful 4-cylinder serial production passenger car engine delivers a top-class technology package. Depending on the power required, the combined fuel system works with direct or intake manifold injection. The single-scroll 48 V exhaust gas turbocharger and the boost of the belt-driven starter alternator also contribute to the feisty response of the major assembly.
            AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension Comfortable cruising or sporty driving: With the AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension[1] lowered by 10 mm with adaptive adjustable damping, the choice is yours. In the "Comfort" drive program, you enjoy a balanced damping characteristic. The SPORT and SPORT+ programmes support you with a firmer set-up for particularly dynamic driving.
            AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G The spontaneous responsiveness is in part thanks to the AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission. At up to 100 km/h, the rear axle steers in the opposite direction and virtually shortens the wheelbase. From 100 km/h onwards, it then steers in the same direction and virtually extends the wheelbase, which in turn supports driving safety.
            AMG DYNAMIC SELECT The six AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs, "Slippery", "Comfort", "Sport", "Sport +", "Individual" and "RACE", enable a range of vehicle characteristics from comfortable to dynamic. Each drive program offers an individual driving experience with precise tuning for a wide range of driving conditions.
            AMG Performance 4MATIC+ (SL 55 and SL 63 4MATIC+) For the first time, the SL delivers its power to the road with the state-of-the-art AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive system. The all-wheel drive variably links the rear axle to the front axle and thus guarantees ideal torque distribution.
            4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine (SL 55 and SL 63 4MATIC+) The re-engineered 4.0-litre V8 engine from Mercedes-AMG impresses in both output levels, with its explosive power delivery combined with finely-adjustable output. Numerous high-tech components and materials from motor racing are used. The twin-scroll exhaust gas turbochargers are placed between the cylinder heads ("hot inner V") for spontaneous response and low exhaust emissions. When power demand is low, the cylinder shutoff system reduces fuel consumption.
            Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC The comfort of having Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC when driving bumper-to-bumper in flowing and stop-and-go traffic is something you will not want to do without in future. The system relieves the strain on you by automatically adapting your speed to that of slower-moving vehicles travelling ahead. The required specified distance can be set in several increments.[3]
            GUARD 360° Vehicle Protection Plus with Digital Extras GUARD 360° Vehicle Protection Plus [1] provides all-round monitoring of the vehicle environment. Thanks to the anti-theft alarm system, as well as emergency key deactivation, you are able to react quickly. On the road, the collision detection* function notifies you via app. And Stolen Vehicle Help* (After-theft help) increases the chance of recovering your property if your vehicle is ever stolen.[4]
            360° camera The 360° camera's [1] all-around visibility including virtual bird's eye view helps you when parking and manoeuvring. Thanks to the intelligent networking of 4 cameras, you can also see obstacles that are actually out of your field of vision via the central display.[3]
            DIGITAL LIGHT with projection function DIGITAL LIGHT lets you experience ideal lighting conditions. The HD system works like a projector and reacts with brilliant light optimally adapted to changing conditions of traffic, carriageway or weather. DIGITAL LIGHT also assists you with information projected onto the carriageway and optimises orientation.
            PRE-SAFE® system The PRE-SAFE® system makes use of the time prior to an impending impact to help reduce the levels of stress to which you will be exposed. In dangerous situations, for example, PRE-SAFE® tightens the driver's and front passenger's seat belts as a precaution, or moves the front passenger seat to a more favourable position for a possible collision.
            Head airbags in the rear The head airbags in the rear can deploy on the impact side in the area between the passengers' heads and the side window in the event of a severe side collision. This can reduce the risk of a head impacting with the side of the vehicle or intrusion of objects for the rear seat occupants.
            Active Lane Keeping Assist Active Lane Keeping Assist is an attentive observer: if you unintentionally leave your lane or get dangerously close to other road users, the system can bring you back into your lane with the help of steering intervention. If you still leave the lane, however, an additional warning will follow in the form of a steering wheel vibration.[3]
            Lift system, front axle With the lift function, you can raise the front axle by up to 30 mm and thus protect the add-on parts of the front bumper from damage. This can be helpful, for example, when driving over ramps, at steep entrances and exits or when parking.[1]
            Multicontour front seats Tailor-made and designed to pamper: these seats combine a host of adjustment options with exclusive feel-good extras. Ergonomic details ensure that occupants enjoy a perfect seating position: inflatable side cushions ensure strong lateral support. Pleasant massage functions turn every trip into an enjoyable experience.[1]
            Climatised front seats The seat climate control ventilates the front seats with a large-area air flow, cools them down and thus also regulates humidity - especially pleasant on hot days. In cooler weather, seat heating quickly brings the seat surface and backrests up to a pleasant temperature.[1]
            ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL[1] monitors the air quality for you with the help of air quality and fine particle sensors. A two-stage filter concept reduces fine particle and the majority of other inhalable pollutants. Depending on the value measured, your vehicle switches intelligently between fresh air and air-recirculation mode.
            AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package The AMG DYNAMIC PLUS Package[1] bundles high-performance components for even greater driving dynamics. These include an electronic AMG rear axle locking differential, dynamic AMG engine mounts and the additional "RACE" drive program.

The limited slip differential optimally distributes power between both wheels when cornering.
