Easy charging. Everywhere.

Charging batteries has never been this easy: whether at home with the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox or out and about at numerous charging stations such as at shopping centres or service stations.

The image shows the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox and a person who would like to charge the EQA from Mercedes-EQ at home.

Charging at home

With the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox, your home becomes a charging station: thanks to the powerful AC charging system, the EQA charges at up to 11 kW (3-phase) here – and thus many times faster than at a conventional household socket. Control and monitor the charging process of your Mercedes-Benz Wallbox conveniently via the Mercedes me App.

The EQA is equipped with an 11 kW alternate current charging system (AC charging). The charging time at a wallbox or public charging station is X.X hours*.

*The calculation is based on the EQA 250 with an 11 kW alternate current charging system (AC charging) and a 100 kW direct current charging system (DC charging). These may be special equipment. Figures refer to 23 degrees Celsius battery starting temperature and ambient temperature at certification levels, excluding additional auxiliary consumers such as, e.g. seat heating, displays and air conditioning system..

Charging on the road

A short break on the road: with the Mercedes me Charge digital service, you have access to a host of public charging stations across Europe - including IONITY's fast charging stations, where you can charge your EQA from 10 to 80 percent at up to 100 kW* in around XX minutes**. Furthermore, with Mercedes me Charge, your charging is always green throughout Europe. Mercedes-Benz uses high-quality certificates of origin to ensure that electricity from renewable energy sources is fed into the mains for charging volumes that flow via Mercedes me Charge.

* The use of the "Mercedes me Charge" service requires a separate charging contract with a selected third-party provider that handles payment and billing of the charging processes. A personal Mercedes me ID and agreement to the terms of use for the Mercedes me connect services are required to use Mercedes me connect services.

* Maximum charging capacity at DC charging station with 400 volt supply, 300 A current; the maximum charging capacity depends on various factors, such as ambient and battery temperature and the state of charge of the battery when charging is started.

** Minimum charging time from 10 to 80% under optimal conditions at a DC charging station with 400 volt supply, 300 A current; the charging time may vary depending on various factors, such as ambient and battery temperature and the use of additional auxiliary consumers, e.g. heating.

Important questions on electric driving.

EQ&A

Important questions on electric driving.

    • Real-world electric range

Why is the real-world electric range often less than specified?

The electric range varies depending on individual driving behaviour, the route profile and environmental factors. You can travel on electric power further if you use ECO Assist to drive with foresight and take advantage of the energy recovery and/or gliding function. Auxiliary equipment such as seat heating or the climate control system also has an impact on range, as do particularly cold or hot ambient temperatures.

    • AC and DC charging technology

What is the difference between AC and DC charging technology?

Basically, the batteries of electrified vehicles can only be charged with direct current (DC). However, all household power sockets, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox charger and most public charging stations supply alternating current (AC), as do "high-voltage sockets". To make charging possible, vehicles are equipped with an on-board charger – an AC/DC converter. It converts the alternating current into the required direct current. It facilitates charging capacities of 2.3 kW to 11 kW – depending on the AC source.

    • Environmental friendliness

How environmentally friendly are electric cars really?

How environmentally friendly a vehicle is in actual use depends greatly on your driving and charging behaviour. Among other things, the electricity you charge the vehicle with also plays a significant role, i.e. is it actually being charged with "green" electricity or an energy mix? With Mercedes me Charge, you always benefit from green charging throughout Europe. Mercedes-Benz uses high-quality guarantees of origin to warrant that electricity from renewable energies is fed into the mains for charges which flowed via Mercedes me Charge. In this way, you are already reducing your personal CO2 footprint today and making a contribution to the energy revolution.
Even in private households, a green electricity contract is often just a few clicks away.
