With Mercedes me Charge1 you have access to public charging stations across Europe; in cities, shopping centres, hotels and service stations, for example. A smartphone app shows the location of the selected charging station, current availability and its price. At the charging station, authentication is completed via the media display, the smartphone app or the RFID card. Everything else including payment and invoicing is managed automatically via Mercedes me Charge.

[1] Mercedes me Charge is not available in all markets. To use the Mercedes me Charge service you must register in the Mercedes me Portal and agree to the terms of use for the Mercedes me connect services. You will also have to register in the Mercedes me Charge User Portal, enter payment information and link your vehicle to the user account. At present in Germany, blanket coverage with charging and payment solutions complying with standard weights and measures law is not guaranteed. In individual cases, this may lead to variations in the mobility service provider's charging and invoice amounts. Please contact Digital Charging Solutions GmbH with any questions. After the initial activation, the service is free of charge for 12 months. After that initial period, use of the service can be extended via the Mercedes me Portal.

Battery and battery certificate

Powerful and safe. A battery that meets Mercedes quality standards.

The high-voltage battery is the centrepiece of the new EQV. The battery is installed in the vehicle floor in order to fulfil the high Mercedes-EQ safety requirements. This also reduces the vehicle's centre of gravity.

The new EQV from Mercedes-EQ: battery certificate

Worry-free electric motoring.

The battery certificate means you can enjoy the all-electric driving experience in the new EQV from Mercedes-EQ without any worries. The battery certificate protects customers for up to 8 years or a mileage of 160,000 km against any financial burden should the high-voltage battery fall below the threshold of 180 Ah of residual capacity on the EQV 300 [EQV 300 | Electrical consumption (combined): XXX kWh/100 km; CO2-emissions (combined): 0 g/km].

FAQs

Your most important questions regarding electric driving.

FAQs

Your most important questions regarding electric driving.

    • Range

What range can be achieved with an EQV during everyday use?

Firstly, the range of your EQV is dependent on the vehicle configuration, and amongst other things on the selected maximum speed. The actual range is furthermore dependent upon the individual driving style, road and traffic conditions, outside temperature, and use of the climate control/heating system and other electrical consumers. The power availability display, the recuperation levels and the drive programs help you to use the battery charge as efficiently as possible and thus achieve a greater range.

    • AC and DC charging technology

What is the difference between AC and DC charging technology?

In principle, the batteries in electrified vehicles can only be charged with direct current (DC). However, all household sockets, the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox and most public charging stations deliver alternating current (AC) as do "high-voltage sockets". To make charging possible, the vehicle is equipped with an on-board charger – an AC/DC converter. It converts the alternating current into the required direct current. Charging capacities of up to 11 kW are possible – depending on the performance of the charging cable and the charging infrastructure. With the flexible charging system both options are possible, as it contains the appropriate phase connector for many different charging situations.

    • Environment

How environmentally friendly are electric cars really?

It very much depends on your driving and charging behaviour. The kind of electricity you charge is particularly important too: is it really carbon-neutral electricity or is it a mix of different energy sources, including coal power, for example? Generally all public charging stations are supplied with alternatively generated electricity and in private households too, a green electricity contract is often only a few clicks away. As a supporting measure we offer Mercedes-Benz green electricity – a service exclusively for Mercedes-Benz customers.

    • Charging options

How do I charge my EQV?

You have a choice of charging options. The most obvious choice: the Mercedes-Benz Wallbox with which you can fully charge the battery in less than 10 hours with a charging capacity of up to 11 kW. Plus there is a steadily growing number of public charging stations. At a DC rapid charging station you can charge your EQV from 10 to 80 % with a charging capacity of up to 110 kW in about 45 minutes.

    • Charging cable socket

What charging cable connector can I use to charge my EQV?

Thanks to the Combined Charging System (CCS), the EQV offers you great flexibility at charging stations and wallboxes: it charges with up to 11 kW at charging points with alternating current (AC). At rapid charging stations using direct current (DC), you can even charge with up to 110 kW to increase the range fast. And in order that you have a suitable solution for a whole range of charging situations at hand, the flexible charging system offers corresponding phase connectors.

    • Battery certificate

Is there a warranty on the battery?

Should the capacity of your battery fall below 180 Ah residual capacity during the first 8 years or the first 160,000 km after initial registration, you are covered by the battery certificate. We will bear the costs of replacing the battery. And the best thing is: the battery certificate is included in the purchase price.

    • Efficiency

How do I drive my Mercedes-EQ EQV as efficiently as possible?

4 different drive programs and 5 recuperation levels assist you in maintaining an efficient driving style. Both functions enable you to optimise your electrical consumption and thus the range of your EQV.
