Next-level electromobility.

If you are contemplating entering the world of electromobility, you will soon realise that it involves much more than just an electrically powered vehicle. That's why our specialists will engage in a dialogue with you to develop a concept for your electromobility that's tailored to your company – our eVan ecosystem. This includes, among other things, the creation of a suitable charging infrastructure, on-location servicing and connectivity services.
Key brand promises from Mercedes-Benz Van, such as ergonomics, safety in the workplace, comfort and security, are naturally all strengths of the eSprinter.

25 years of experience, taking you forward – electrically.

25 years of experience are invested in every Sprinter, and the eSprinter builds upon this basis. And in the modules of the electric drive system you will also benefit from the integrity of the components used. The module components for the eSprinter have their origins in passenger car development and have already been incorporated in alternative-drive vehicles for some years.
On delivery you will receive a well-proven vehicle featuring Mercedes-Benz quality, whose electric drive and heating have passed our comprehensive winter test at temperatures down to -30°C.

Flexible with respect to battery size and charging options.

Can be charged to 80 % in 20 minutes.

Thanks to the Combined Charging System (CCS) the eSprinter is not fussy when it comes to charging stations and wall boxes: it charges with max. 7.4 kW and alternating current (AC) just as readily as with max. 20 kW and direct current (DC). With the optionally available max. 80 kW DC charging capacity, the standard high-voltage battery (35 kWh) can be charged from 10 to 80 % in only 20 minutes at a DC rapid charging station. With the flexible charging system, you are ideally equipped to take advantage of many different charging situations: this offers you a wide variety of charging solutions in one handy set.

To start charging, the CCS plug of the charging cable is simply inserted into the CCS socket (Combo 2) in the radiator grille. Should there be no wall box or charging station available the battery can also be charged via the domestic grid.

Exemplary safety level even with electric drive.

Well-protected high-voltage on-board electrical system.

The electrically powered vans from Mercedes-Benz are put through vehicle testing procedures and crash tests comparable with those for a vehicle equipped with a combustion engine. Therefore they are of the exemplary Mercedes-Benz standard in terms of safety.
The drivetrain, the high-voltage battery and the high-voltage lines are protected, embedded in frames. A protective plate additionally shields the battery system from below against damage. All high voltage lines are carefully insulated.
If the crash sensors detect a serious accident, the vehicle is automatically made voltage-free immediately.

Frequently asked questions

  1. To be defined in configuration template (11)
  2. Load (3)
  3. Use (8)
  1. How do I charge my eSprinter?

You have a choice of charging options. The most obvious choice: the Mercedes-Benz wallbox or a charging solution specially designed by us for you at your premises. Plus there is a steadily growing number of public charging stations. At a DC rapid charging facility, you can charge your eSprinter from 10 to 80 % with up to max. 80 kW charging power in around 20 minutes. A DC rapid charging facility with up to max. 20 kW is already included as standard. With the flexible charging system you are prepared for different charging situations: with this set you always have the right charging solution at your disposal.

  2. What is the difference between AC and DC charging?

The battery is always charged with direct current (DC) as available directly from DC rapid charging stations. Thanks to the high charging capacity, range can quickly be increased. When charging at wallboxes or from the domestic grid the vehicle is charged with alternating current (AC). This is converted in the vehicle to DC current by an AC on-board charger before being fed into the battery. With the flexible charging system both options are possible, as it contains the appropriate phase connector for many different charging situations.

  3. Is a charging cable included in the scope of delivery?

A charging cable is not included with your electrically powered van from Mercedes-Benz. As an option, there are 4 charging cables with a type 2 charging connector which are available to order. You can choose between 4 m, 5 m and 8 m lengths as well as between single-phase and 2-phase charging. The flexible charging system, combining several different phase connectors in a single, convenient set, is suitable for many different charging situations. Should you have any further questions on the topic of charging cables, your Mercedes-Benz Partner will be happy to help you.

  4. Is an electric van from Mercedes-Benz suited to my daily journeys?

With the EQ Ready App, you can better plan your first steps into electromobility. For example, you will find out whether an electrically powered van from Mercedes-Benz will get you through the working day on just a single charge: the app is free of charge and analyses your daily routes and your driving behaviour. The resulting driving profile will show you whether an electrically driven van is a suitable option for you. Should you have any further questions on the topic of switching to electromobility, your Mercedes-Benz Partner will be happy to help you.

  5. How do I drive my eSprinter as efficiently as possible?

3 different drive programs and 4 recuperation stages assist you in maintaining an efficient driving style. Both functions enable you to optimise your electrical consumption and thus the range of your electrically powered van.

  6. Can I load my eSprinter Panel Van like a vehicle with a combustion engine?

The eSprinter features the same spacious load compartment as a regular Sprinter, as the batteries are located in the vehicle underfloor. With a maximum loading volume of 11 m3 it masters all the demands of the working day. The standard usable battery capacity of 35 kWh allows a high payload. With the optional battery capacity of 47 kWh, the range is increased but the payload is slightly lower due to the weight of the batteries.

  7. What are recuperation stages?

As part of recuperation energy is recovered during vehicle deceleration. For example, the battery charges when going downhill, instead of losing the energy when braking in the form of heat. You can set the strength of recuperation in 4 stages using the steering wheel gearshift paddles: D++ (0 m/s²), D+ (-0.5 m/s²), D (-1.0 m/s²), D- (-1.5 m/s²).

  8. How fast can I drive my eSprinter?

You should choose the top speed depending on the driving profile. Is your vehicle mainly to be driven in urban areas or will you largely use motorways? The standard top speed of your electric van is 80 km/h. As an option you can have the top speed increased to 100 km/h or 120 km/h. Bear in mind, however, that higher speeds are generally achieved at the expense of the vehicle range.

  9. Which battery capacities can I order?

Your eSprinter has a usable battery capacity of 35 kWh on-board as standard. For an even greater range, you have the option of ordering a battery capacity of 47 kWh. Should you have any further questions on the topic of the battery capacity or range, your Mercedes-Benz Partner will be happy to help you.

  10. What range can be achieved daily by an electric van from Mercedes-Benz?

The range of your electrically powered van from Mercedes-Benz depends primarily on the vehicle configuration, especially the choice of its top speed. The actual range is furthermore dependent upon the individual driving style, road and traffic conditions, outside temperature, and use of the climate control/heating system and other electrical consumers. The power display and the recuperation stages help you to use the battery charge as efficiently as possible and achieve a greater range.

  11. What charging connector can I use to charge my eSprinter?

Thanks to the Combined Charging System (CCS) you are very flexible with your eSprinter when it comes to charging stations and wallboxes: it can be charged with max. 7.4 kW when using alternating current (AC) or with max. 20 kW in conjunction with direct current (DC). You can optionally also increase the range using DC rapid charging stations with up to max. 80 kW. The flexible charging system with several phase connectors and a maximum charge output of 22 kW ensures you are prepared for different charging situations.
